All you wanted to know about drones

Drones have aroused great deal of inquisitives over the past few years. These petite aircrafts have been mostly identified as war weapons or military drones. Likewise, surveillance drones are also used as surveillance satellites too. However, they have also got associated with terrorism of late. But lack of detailed information about the drone keeps all inquisitiveness about these specialized aircrafts consistently alive. We are trying to give you more information about these vehicles here. Start reading.

Q1. How is a drone controlled?
Ans. A drone can either be controlled both by a pilot and autonomously by pre-programmed schedules. Therefore, it is better to say that the manner in which a drone will be controlled depends upon the type of the aerial vehicle.

Q2.  What are the basic categories of drones?
Ans. These aerial vehicles are broadly divided into two categories; one category is programmed for surveillance and another category  is used as bombing equipment. To be more specific on this,   the aircrafts that are programmed for conducting surveillance are used by the military as spy drones. On the other hand, the aircrafts that are programmed to serve as war equipments are armed with ammunitions like bombs and missiles.

Q3. Which drone is considered as more superior vehicle?
Ans. The automatically programmed drones are considered as much better vehicles than their manually controlled counterparts. This is because these automatically programmed aircrafts can float in the air for over eighty-two hours at a stretch. Moreover, they can be controlled from a remote distance. In addition, they cost much less than the manually controlled vehicles. Sum total of all these aspects make the pre-programmed drone much better.

Q4. How is warfare initiated via a drone?
Ans. Let us take the example of the predator drones of USA. While these are physically installed in Iraq and Afghanistan,  they are controlled from the Nellis and Creech USAF base that is located outside Las Vegas in Nevada. When an operator controls the flight of the drone, another operator controls the sensor and the camera. A third operator communicates with the commanders and military on the warzones and battlegrounds. For your further information, the first war drone was used in the Balkans war.
